NUREMBERG, Germany - This time of year, the Christmas spirit descends on Germany's cities and towns in the form of wooden stalls laden with pretzels, toys and baked goods of all shapes and sizes.  
 
LES ARCS, France - The resort of Les Arcs in the French Alps is renowned for having 125 miles of runs, a lift system that can take you all the way up to 10,500 feet, and a cable car that connects to the neighboring valley of La Plagne.

DUBLIN, Ireland -- Stately? Not really.

Plump? Definitely.

Peter Fullam, that's me, came from the staircase on top of the Martello tower at Sandycove bearing camcorder and a map.

I reverently tip-toed around the stone gun platform on top of the tower to take in the view.
