Did you know it can be dangerous to fly right after scuba diving? As a traveler who tries to schedule one last adventure before going home from vacation, this was news to me. We've all heard that rising to the ocean surface too quickly is a no-no for scuba divers, but climbing to 30,000 feet above sea level right after diving can be hazardous for similar reasons. Due to the extreme changes in pressure underwater, you shouldn't take a flight for 12 to 24 hours after scuba diving to allow your system to adjust. This allows your body's internal pressure and fluids to return to normal after being submerged under water for any length of time. Who knew?
